As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” (Luke 21:1-4)
Kasih ibu kepada beta
Tak terhingga sepanjang masa
Hanya memberi tak harap kembali
Bagai sang surya menyinari dunia.
Our parents might have taught us this simple yet beautiful songs while we’re kids. In today’s gospel, we’re reminded about the widow’s offering story, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”
This parable tells very much about the character of a mother, who always become an everyone’s hero.
A mother will always says ‘yes’ even before she’s ready.
A mother will sacrifice herself in order to grow us up.
Our happiness has become their happiness too.
A mother, who always give and never ask anything for return.
Just like the sun, which always give her light to the world.
So, when is the last time we honor and love her back?
Today’s prayer :
Thank you Lord Jesus, for giving us such a loving and caring mother in our life. Who always sacrifice herself and bring something for us, even in her limitations. Bless her with health, joy and happiness throughout the days of her life. Amen. Mother Mary, please pray for us. Fiat Lux! (Yuki/Alex)
